Prabalini Prabakaran is a pioneering Sri Lankan Tamil female music director, renowned for her multifaceted talents as a composer, singer, lyricist, arranger, producer, and actress. She made her debut with the album Sangeetha Samrajyam in 1995, establishing herself as a significant figure in the Tamil music industry

Early Life and Background

Born in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, Prabalini is the daughter of M.P. Paramesh, known as "Eelathu Mellissai Mannan," and Mrs. Sivamalini Paramesh, a graduate of Carnatic music. Prabalini began singing at the age of four, learning from her mother and inheriting her father's compositional skills. The family moved to Germany in 1986 due to the Sri Lankan Civil War.

Prabalini pursued studies in International Business and Trading, specializing in medical equipment and social care. She also holds an MBA from the USA, obtained in 2009

Career

Prabalini's career began with her debut album Sangeetha Samrajyam, which was distributed internationally in countries such as Germany, France, and the UK. She has worked on numerous projects, including short films, advertisements, and television productions.

Her versatility is evident in her collaborations with various artists and her work in multiple languages. Notably, her album Queen Cobra received international acclaim and won her the prestigious Special Jury Edison Award in India.

Following her debut, Prabalini performed on over 150 stages in Europe and Canada from 1996 to 1999. She has collaborated with various artists and participated in numerous musical groups across several countries.
