[edit]Outline of proposed changes
[edit]I will be completing the blank section titled "Ohio".
This section is important because it is one of the few missing sections in this article, and because it is important to look at homelessness in each state individually (since each state has different policies and resources). This topic has become increasingly important after the effects of COVID-19.
Under the main part of the section, I will discuss:
- Recently published homelessness statistics (2022) for the state of Ohio
- A more detailed breakdown of who makes up the homeless population
- I will include the fact that Ohio's homeless population has been decreasing since 2007 at a top-5 state rate
- Historical and current causes of homelessness in Ohio
- The many different programs that are available to help the homeless in Ohio
Under the Columbus subsection, I will discuss:
- General statistics regarding the homeless population in Columbus, Ohio
- Recently introduced panhandling laws in Columbus
Under the Cuyahoga County subsection, I will discuss:
- General statistics regarding the homeless population in Cuyahoga County, Ohio
- A recently released action plan that is meant to decrease the homeless population by 25% by 2027
