User:Pojanji

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Pojanji" (破陣子) is a chi paai (詞牌), a form of "tonal pattern" or melody in chi poetry. Poets would compose characters to a chi paai according to its fixed tonal pattern and rhythm. Although the musical sound of these tunes are no longer extant, the rhythm and tone pattern can still be approximated.

A famous example of a chi poem in the "Pojanji" tune would be San Hei Jat's "為陳同父賦壯語以寄". For all English speakers, Christopher Kelen translated this as "A Drunk's Dream."
