Johanna Fenichel, née Heilborn (21 October 1897 - 12 October 1975) was a German-American psychoanalyst and educator known for her work in the field of early child development.
Johanna Fenichel was born in Berlin, Germany on 21 October 1897. In 1940 she married Otto Fenichel. She was a leading member of the Los Angeles Psychoanalytic Institute.[1] On 12 October 1975, she died of cancer in Brentwood, Los Angeles County, California.[2] The Hanna Fenichel Center for Child Development, founded in 1975, is named after her.[3]
