Information on Dams in India with State wise listing are available(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dams_and_reservoirs_in_India). From the Same source list of Dams In Maharashtra is also available(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_dams_and_reservoirs_in_India#Maharashtra) In these sources one has to search and locate the information to know the list of dams in a region or a district as Region / District wise list of dam is not available . Effort has been made to prestnt the dams in Vidharbha region .Vidhatba consists Amravati and Nagpur Ravenue Divions and has total of 11 Districts. Here the Aim is to provide District wise information in a table format where the name of the dam and reference to its location page on wikimapia as well as in google maps where the dam & reservoir has been mapped is available, at the same map salient features of the dam are also made available.
