Mason County Press (www.MasonCountyPress.com) is an online news website that serves Mason County, Michigan. The site is provided free to readers with revenue generated by advertisers. It is owned by Media Group 31, LLC, PO Box 21, Scottville, MI 49454.
MasonCountyPress.com was launched in January 2012 by Rob Alway, who serves as President, CEO and Editor-in-Chief.
The Mason County Press was originally a weekly newspaper based in Scottville that began publishing on Aug. 24, 1938 by Harry E. Kruse. It absorbed Mason County Sentinel. It ceased on Mar. 11, 1976. It was revitalized in 1986 but folded within two years.
Allison Scarbrough is a Contributing Editor and serves as Editor of Oceana County Press, an affiliate site also owned by Media Group 31, LLC.
