Hello, this Wikipedian hails from New Zealand, has lived in Thailand and Japan, and currently resides in the Philippines. Author of two novels (The Davenport Files, Pryck's Progress) and three short story collections (Fire from Heaven & Other Stories, A Dish Served Cold, The Star Children) as well as a humorous account of growing up in a small New Zealand town 1955-1970 (Wainui Days).

Up to 2005, I worked as an editor of health and safety publications in the NZ Department of Labour and was the founding editor of the Safeguard magazine. I authored the A to Z Book of Bright Ideas for Promoting Safety and Health in your Place of Work and (with Piripi Walker and Heni Jacob) the English-Māori Glossary of Occupational Safety and Health Terms.

I maintain a web site on the music of New Zealand composer Ivan Bootham and another on the poetry of R.A.K. Mason.
