Michelle Bitting - poet (born; Los Angeles, California)
is an American writer known for poetry. She is a graduate of the MFA in writing program at Pacific University, Oregon. Bitting is the author of "Blue Laws" and "Good Friday Kiss", published by C & R Press in 2008. Her work has been seen in Prairie Schooner, Narrative Magazine, River Styx, The LA Weekly, Poetry Daily and many other literary magazines, journals and anthologies. She has won numerous awards for her writing and was a finalist for the Poets & Writers California Exchange Contest as well as for a myriad of book awards. Bitting has received grants from private foundations for her teaching work and is an active mentor for California Poets in the Schools, as well as teaching at UCLA Extension.
