Sam Quawasmi
Sam Quawasmi is the Co-CEO and Co-founder of Eureeca. Along with his co-founder Chris Thomas, Sam launched Eureeca in Dubai in 2013 and it has since grown into the only multi-regulated and cross-continent Equity Crowdfunding platform globally, having received regulatory approval from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, the Malaysian Securities Commission, the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets, and more recently, the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
Eureeca is also the first and only Equity Crowdfunding platform to partner with insurance giant American International Group (AIG) to develop and introduce the first Equity Crowdfunding insurance product aimed to protect investors on Equity Crowdfunding platforms against issuer fraud.
Eureeca was recently ranked #18 in the Forbes “Top 100 Startups in the Arab World 2017” and won “Innovator of the Year” by Forbes in 2017. Other accolades include “Innovator of the Year” at the 2014 Gulf Business Awards and “Most Innovative Online Platform” by Frost and Sullivan in 2015.
Sam has 14 years experience working for international investment banks in London and MENA-region investment banks in Dubai. Prior to founding Eureeca, he served as Director for MENA Equities at Arqaam Capital, and Vice President of Equity Capital Markets at SHUAA Capital. Sam received an MSc in International Capital Markets from the University of Brighton in the United Kingdom in 2001.
