My name is Rowan and I play soccer here at Converse University. My soccer journey started back when I was 8 years old where I played at a little Sunday night league. Once I turned 10 I went to a recreationally league called Azalea in my home town in Florida. This we a big transition to me because I was used to having one practice a week to two practices and a game on the weekend. This is were my love for soccer grew and learned a lot of my basics. This wasn't enough though I always wanted more my last year of rec soccer was when I was 14, where I started to guest play for club soccer called PCU. This was more commitment and where I decided I wanted to play college soccer. That was my dream and goal for as long as I could remember.
At PCU, I meant my mentor, Don Tobin. He played for Everton, a professional soccer team in the U.K., back in the day. He helped me the most, taught me how to do the proper touches and shots. He even taught me grit and mentality to never quit, to keep going. Once I turned 16 I left PCU and went to another club called Celtic. I wanted to go to this club because the coach had scouted me before and this would give me much better opportunities to play college soccer. We did so many tournaments and showcases and my team even went to Ireland and Scotland to play and have trainings there. That was a experience I'll never forget and I learned so much about myself and how I play.
