I am petervee. My knowledge is in the following fields base on my experience in: - maintaining large Scale computers in the mid 1970's when I worked for IBM South Africa and then Control Data corporation, working on IBM Compatible systems. My first computer center was that of the OK Bazaars supermarket chain in Johannesburg in 1975. I was involved in maintaining and creating design changes for issues involved in CDC 3420 compatible tape drives. - microcomputers, designing quite a few systems using the 8008 and 8080 Intel microprocessors. - maintaining computer centers of ESKOM, South Africa Electricity Supply Commission. - worked at Control Data Cybernet Center in Brussels, Belgium maintaining live networks; - was formally trained in networking by McGraw-Hil in 1980 on X25 networks. - designed a cash register system to be used in a store in Nice, France; - designed the floppy disk subsystem for the BBC Microcomputer (together with Peter Watson of Marketbroad, a PR company in the UK); - wrote Workwriter, a wordprocessor modelled after the AES/Lanier dedicated word processor systems and sold more than 4000 copies for IBM PC and Amstrad 6128 systems. This was part of the Cicero legal software; - wrote a C compiler for the Amstrad 6128 computer; - dedigned a two to one computer printer automatic switching unit for daisy wheel printers for AES data; - additional software that can be downloaded at http://vekinis.com - partnered in Newsbytes News Network, a computer news wire, twice winner of the Computer Press Association prize; - started European News Network, a company based in Dublin, Ireland, and owner of The Technology Channel, a computer news TV program airing on Discovery Channel Europe's transponder late at night and on Greek TV's second TV channel. This program went on for a single season (18 episodes). - wrote a book called GJ149 on SETI, available on Amazon.com - I am a radio amateur and have callsigns from the US (KH6VP), Canada (VE3PPV), Ireland (EI4GV), Luxembourg (LX1QF) and Greece (SV0GV). I am able to referee documents on any of these subjects.
