My Wikipedia Interests

[edit]

One thing that interests me on Wikipedia is how anyone can edit pages on Wikipedia. This interests me because I have never done any revision on any websites online.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

One of my favorite snacks to eat are Pretzels and while working at Auntie Anne's I even learned how to make Pretzels. I am now interested in how this franchise came about, so I visited the Auntie Anne's article on Wikipedia and found three aspects that needed to be mentioned: Citations, Age of information included in article, and left out information

Citations

[edit]

There are a lack of citations in some areas of this article like in the beginning paragraph when it mentions the slogan in 2010, and when the article mentions international locations such as Sydney, Australia. These pieces of information could use citations because I could not find out where this information was found.

Age

[edit]

This Article includes a lot of old information for example, "As long ago as 2004, there were 17 locations in Sydney, Australia". This information is no longer relevant because it has been about 18 years and Sydney, Australia could have more or less locations than they did in 2004. I also tried to figure out where the information came from and I could not find any citations. I also noticed that the Auntie Anne's Wikipedia page mentions that, "The slogan as of 2010 is Pretzel Perfect". I did not see any citations to prove that that was the slogan in 2010. On the Auntie Anne's website the current slogan is "Caring for other People is our Purpose". This piece of information needs to be updated and cited for the people that read the article today.

Left Out Information

[edit]

In the section that explains the history of Auntie Anne's I noticed their was no information about the founders of this franchise. I think imformation about the people who founded this franchise is a important piece of information that should be included in the history of this successful franchise.

Conclusion

[edit]

Furthermore, this article is useful for learning about the Auntie Anne's franchise but lacks in some areas by leaving out citations, using old information, and leaving out important information.
