The son of John Leroy Christenson DFC, an American pilot based at 578 squadron RAF Burn, who, following war service, joined the CIA U2 spy programme.Following adoption by Leslie and Sybil Everett,he lived in Middlesbrough and was Educated at Fyling Hall School Robin Hoods Bay, Everett went on to study film and drama at the Oxford Academy Of Speech and Drama, and at Kirby College. Following education, Everett joined the Royal Military Police and was recommended for a commission at Mons Military Academy. His military career was short lived, when he accepted an opportunity to join the Lincoln Repertory Company working alongside Richard Stilgo and Victor Spinetti.
CAREER
Peter J Everett launched his theatrical career on the repertory circuit. He played minor roles at Lincoln's Theatre Royal and Newcastle's Flora Robson Playhouse. In 1964 he was appointed as the UK's youngest Stage Director to the Coliseum Theatre summer season in Rhyl North Wales.Whilst at Rhyl he learned the art of comedy from the famous pantomime dame George Lacey, which was to lead to Everett's appointment as a Butlin Redcoat at the Ocean Hotel in Brighton. ( http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2006/04/15/the-dark-side-of-billy-butlin-115875-16949529/ )The Brighton season was a disaster and Everett returned to his roots as an actor. Flying to Dublin, he joined the Carrickford Repertory Company and spent six months touring Eire. It was here that he really learned the art of acting under Robert Carrickford. Returning to England, Everett underwent a sea change and spent six years at St Mary's Hospital Paddington training as a Morbid Anatomist. He was in charge of the mortuary and appointed as National Secretary to the Guild of Mortuary Administration and Technology. During his time at Marys, he wrote papers for the Nursing Mirror and lectured to the School Of Nursing. In 1982 Everett was appointed as Superintendent to the Royal Coroner Gordon Davies at Southwark mortuary and Coroner's Court. The appointment was to lead Everett into national headlines. Realising that the service was full of corrupt Officers, he went undercover for Scotland Yard's anti corruption Squad CIB2. This resulted in 43 Police Officers resigning from the force, and two of his own staff going to prison. In 1985, as a member of the British Air Crash investigation team, he flew to Cork and worked on the bombing of Air India flight 182. By 1987 Everett had worked on two major disasters including the IRA bombing of the Household Cavalry, had dealt with four hundred murders and assisted at 10,000 Post Mortems, and it was taking its toll on his health and family life; he resigned in July 1987. For the following five years he worked as a stringer for Fleet Street before joining Channel 7 as a European Consultant. He spent the early 1990s touring Germany and Austria. Whilst at Channel 7 he met the British Arm Wrestling champion Les Clayden. Together, they founded the British National Theatre Schools for children, and over a period of five years coached 2,000 students through their LAMDA voice exams. In 1994 Everett was invited to direct a new play by Barry Heath, a Mansfield playwright. `The Crown Street Bucket Bangers' ran for two weeks at the Mansfield Palace Theatre and played to packed houses and critical acclaim. Whilst at Mansfield Everett met Tayla Goodman, who had written a musical and wanted Everett to direct it. This was to be the start of a long term partnership. `Virus' had its premier at Nottingham's Theatre Royal and starred the late, much lamented Jack Wild. Samantha Fox was contracted to the show, but withdrew when the planned tour was pulled due to lack of financial backing. Despite critics praising the music and forecasting a West End run, the show only lasted four weeks before vanishing into obscurity. Everett and Goodman returned to London and established `Ealing Film and Television Associates', a production House specialising in media and press stories. Their early commissions included infiltration of the Ministry Of Defence on behalf of Trinity Mirror. Don Mackay was the reporter on the story and it went out as a splash and raised questions in the House-Of-Commons. Due to the stories success, Everett and Goodman were head hunted by Phil Braund at Carlton Television. In April 2000, they joined Braund's team of undercover journalists and spent the next year working on the `Cook Report'. With the programme's demise in 2001, Everett and Goodman joined The Group Global Intelligence Services in London's Harley street and Everett accepted an extra mural post as Associate Editor on the magazine `Eye Spy International'; he also wrote a feature for the Sunday Mirror (http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Sunday+Mirror+Investigation%3A+A+5-minute+interview+with+a+chauffeur...-a085151890). For the following three years, Everett and Goodman specialised in infiltration of criminal gangs and terrorist cells. This brought the pair into regular contact with members of Government Agencies and to the attention of Fleet Street. Assigments included the infiltration of the IRA in Ulster, reporting on the Force Research Unit, investigating KGB activities in London and researching the MI5 Chenook crash in Scotland. Put out to grass, Everett and Goodman found themselves running surveillance courses at Bletchley Park, the home to Station `X' and the Enigma codes. Disillusioned by intelligence work, they returned to television as consultants to spy programmes for `Ten Alps' `Carlton Television' and `Wall To Wall'. In July 2010 Everett was exposed in the newspapers as an alleged `MI5 agent', ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1297444/KGB-agent-Boris-Karpichkovs-claim-David-Kelly-exterminated-faces-probe.html), a report that Everett has rigorously denied.
