What a privilege it is to be participating in the grand assembly of human knowledge that is Wikipedia. If someone had told me as a child that, within my lifetime, we would carry tiny computers around in our pockets capable of accessing practically everything the human race has ever learned or done or dreamed, I would have scoffed at the idea as an impossible science fiction fantasy. (Yes, I'm that old.) But I would have been ecstatic; and now I often am, when some obscure and wonderful tidbit pops out of the cloud for me.

IRL I actually am an editor and a writer, so I believe I bring useful skills and experience to Wikipedia editing. It's been a long, adventurous road from my master's degree in engineering to publishing a small arts and literature magazine, as I do now. Other credentials include articles that have appeared in popular magazines, research papers published in scientific journals, government reports, software documentation, grant proposals and all sorts of presentation and informational materials.
