Usage

[edit]

Displays a number in crore with an equivalent in millions.

There isn’t yet an option to add commas to the millions output.

The word "million" is hard-coded, there is no facility for billions. There is no plan to add this: which "billion" would that be? 100 crore or 100,000 crore?

Not recommended for currency amounts: the reader would be better served by a conversion to USD or EUR. E.g. the government spent 2.3 crore (USD 1.7M in 2007) on the programme, not the government spent ₹2.3 crore (23 million) on the programme.

Similarly, for local customary units, it would be better to give a conversion into international units.

Even with international units, it reads better when these are written out in full: exported 1.2 crore (12 million) kilograms, rather than exported 1.2 crore (12 million) kg.

Examples

[edit]
  • {{Crore2|1}} – 1 crore (10 million)
  • {{Crore2|9.76}} – 9.76 crore (97.6 million)
  • {{Crore2|1,000}} – 1,000 crore (10000 million)
