In the article about New Castle, Indiana, scales was mentioned as an industry. I would like to add that my great-grandfather, Johnathan Allen was the inventor of the "Allen Weightless Scale." The family lived above the factory while grandfather was working on manufacture and production of his invention. I was told by family that his paten was stolen however, he continued to work in the factory and made many contributions to the manufacture of the scales. Due to Grandfathers religious beliefs he would not take the matter to court.
