PedroUpike is the username of Pedro Santos, which is an international student in the University of Pikeville. Pedro decided to study in another country with 18 years old; he is now 20. He dropped his old college chasing this dream. Pedro pretends to graduate in Business and come back to Brazil after college. Pedro loves his home country despites all the problems that the country is having nowadays.
Pedro has two younger brothers, Victor and Arthur. He is son of Marcia and Luciano. He loves his family and would do anything to protect them, as the worse part to live in another country is the distance between him and his family. That is one reason why he likes Internet so much; Internet connects him with his family and makes the months easier to support. He is a Flamengo fan and so addicted to it. He and his father would never loose any opportunity to go to a Flamengo’s game and support their team. This is when Pedro, which was a shy kid started to have a social and healthier life. He started to play soccer when he was ten years old, which is very old for any Brazilian kid. Nowadays Pedro cannot stand his life without soccer.
Pedro is a film addicted too. If he could choose between any movie and the book the film was based, he would choose definitely choose the movie. Pedro is lazy and probably that is why he does not like to read much books. He likes to read the newspaper and books with real stories of real people; in fact, he likes to read about successful people as famous managers and businessmen.
He is in love with his dog, called Jay. For instance, he would never give him this name. In fact, Pedro has more love for his dog than his brothers that live with Jay. Pedro likes to be healthy and take care of his body as both of his grandparents did not and they are already dead. Pedro thinks that a healthy life style can only bring good things for you life, but he cannot think about the vegan idea. Pedro already was an actor back in Brazil, when he was ten. He played Hansel in Hansel and Gretel and his grandmother never forgave him for quit the stages.
Pedro likes to know about political issues in his country and thinks that things will only become better if the military take control of the country for the second time. He thinks that Brazil is socialist sometimes and he hates all kinds of socialism. His thesis statement for this subject is: If you like the socialism, why are you not leaving in Cuba? Pedro thinks that people always want to talk but they do not want to be example.
Pedro likes to play chees with his father and having a nice time in the beach with his family. The beach to Pedro is like a sacred place. He always go there when he has any kind of problems.
My relation with the Internet is doing well. Pedro started to use the Internet when he was ten. He started to use it to communicate with his friends trough messengers. After 15, the Internet become more seriously after he had to use it to study and make presentation in his High School. Pedro remembers the beginning of the Internet, as when he was five his mother enrolled him in a computer course, which was pretty basic, but was already advanced for that time. When he turned 18 and came to the US, Pedro used for the first time the MAC Computers. and now he cannot stand thinking about use another kind of computers. MAC computers for him are easy to use and seems that sometimes they understand you, as they have all the tools that you need. He is addicted to marketing on the Internet and think that this is a great subject to explore as a businessman. Pedro thinks that the Internet is a great tool to sell things, in fact, since he came to US he is a real consumer of Amazon.com. Pedro cannot describe how amazing it is for him to connect with people from all ove the world with one click, and even better, to do business with them with just one click. Internet makes things possible, all the communication, business, works and studies available on internet makes Pedro think about how people would live without internet back on time.
Wikipedia for me is the most trustable and complete website that I could find on the Internet. It is a complete database about everything. They say that Wikipedia cannot be trusted but I strongly disagree. I think Wikipedia just cannot be you only research. If you come to Wikipedia as you second or third research you can verify if the information that you are reading is true or not. I think that a lot of lazy people uses Wikipedia as shortcut, but if they understand that Wikipedia cannot be you entirely research but it is a very helpful tool, they would help themselves and Wikipedia, which would be valued right.
Wikipedia also gives the opportunity to the writer to aggregate information to the research, which make the Website even more complete.
Wikipedia is a great tool to study and became more intelligent. The information is basic for all human being and I think is awesome the way Wikipedia incorporates all this information in just one webpage with 90% of accuracy. As I said, Wikipedia is a tool to help you with everything, and in my opinion it cannot be seen as 100% trustable yet.
