The 2022 Guangzhou Charge season will be the fourth season of Guangzhou Charge's existence in the Overwatch League and their second season under head coach Sung-woo "Sungwoo" Hong.
Preceding offseason
[edit]In early October 2021, the Charge parted ways with four players: tank player Kim "Jihun" Ji-hun, damage player Zou "MYKaylee" Zijie, and support players Kim "Mandu" Chan-hee and Park "KariV" Young-seo — all of whom where acquired in the 2020 offseason.[1] Guangzhou signed two more players in October, signing damage player Chae "Develop" Rak-hoon and Yoo "Unique" Dong-hyun.[2] The team's next acquisition was on January 21, 2022, with the signing of former Shanghai Dragons support player Chengzhi "Molly" He.[3]
In mid-February 2022, the Charge signed former OWL player Jin "YOUNGJIN" Young-Jin as an assistant coach.[4]
