In 2009, with very little training[3], and without having previously raced in a marathon[4][5], he entered his first ultramarathon, the London to Brighton run, and came second.[6]

In 2014, he came first in the Niligiri Ultra, 100 km, India [7]; the Bangalore Ultra 24 hour, 226 km [8] (in which he also created a new Ultra distance record on Indian soil[2]); and the Gloucester 24 hour track race, UK, 242.88 km.[9]

In 2015, he came first and set new course records in the Grand Union Canal Race; the Roseland August trail Black RAT (32 miles)[10]; the Ridgeway Challenge Ultra trail, 85 miles[11]; and the Run the Rann 161 km ultra trail, India[12]. He also came second in the Spartathlon, with the fastest time for a British runner in the race’s history[13]; and came 24th in the 2015 IAU 24 Hour World Championship, Turin, receiving a gold team medal as part of Team GB & NI.[14]

He also holds the record for distance run on a treadmill in 7 days, having run 521 miles.[15]
