User:Paulmnguyen/Catholic Marian Articles Taskforce

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome! This page is intended to host coordinating information and discussions regarding the consolidation of articles concerning the Blessed Virgin Mary from the perspective of the Roman Catholic Church.

Approach

[edit]

In the process of consolidation, this group will merge existing articles into an appropriately-titled article that will contain accurate information and eliminate redundancy of articles on this topic. This does not mean that there should be at most a single article concerning Mary; based on articles that exist at the time this group was formed (December 2010), we expect there to be a central article about the person of Mary, and additional articles concerning official teachings of the church, Marian apparitions, Marian prayers, etc, that divide the topic logically without excessive redundancy.

New approach: Topic co-ordination

[edit]

This effort may best be characterized as a Topic coordination. This type of activity makes use of the {{Topic co-ordination link}} template for branding affected articles. If we are to remain a taskforce, we should be organized under WikiProject Catholicism.
