I'm Patricia Aufderheide, University Professor in the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C., and founder of the Center for Media and Social Impact[1], originally the Center for Social Media, there. I'm interested in the creative process, democratic expression, and how both are shaped by policies ranging from media ownership to copyright. I follow with great interest how storytellers use the audio-visual form to tell stories that help us understand the world and our place in it better.
