Nottinghamshire Archives
Nottinghamshire Archives is the county record office for Nottinghamshire, England. It collects, preserves and provides access to over four million documents relating to the history of the County of Nottinghamshire, the City of Nottingham, and the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.
Historic Archive Collections
[edit]The records preserved by Nottinghamshire Archives date back to around 1155 and belong to thousands of different collections, the majority of which remain in the ownership of members of the public, companies or institutions. The main body of the collections relate to:
- Official records of Nottinghamshire County Council, Nottingham City Council, districts and boroughs
- Public Records, for example, those created by hospitals and courts
- The Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham
