Article assessment
[edit]The assessment department of WikiProject NASA focuses on assessing the quality of Wikipedia's NASA relted articles. While much of the work is done in conjunction with the WP:1.0 program, the article ratings are also used within the project itself to aid in recognizing excellent contributions and identifying topics in need of further work.
The ratings are made in a distributed fashion through parameters in the {{WPSpace}} project banner; this causes the articles to be placed in the appropriate sub-categories of Category:NASA articles by quality and Category:NASA articles by importance.
See the full list of assessed articles here. You can help by improving the quality of these articles - in particular the ones in the lower left corner of this table need some attention. You can also help by assessing articles which have not been assessed, or re-assessing articles which may have been improved since their original assessment. It is also helpful to find new articles which are related to spaceflight and space exploration, and assessing them for this project.
- Quality
The articles are rated for quality based on the assessment standards of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team. When the scopes of our project and Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history overlap, we rely on e.g. their criteria for B-Class status.
- Importance
The articles are rated for their importance to NASA related programs, people, and rockets. When making importance assessments, it may be helpful to ask, "How important would it be to include this article in an abridged version of the encyclopedia?"
