My Wikipedia Interests
[edit]If i'm active on Wikipedia in the future, I'll probably use it for college. I will also use it to find out more information about topics that are interesting to me. I love to read different genres so learning about authors and their writing style is fascinating to me. I hope to edit some articles to the best of my ability and make them more reliable.
Article Evaluation
[edit]I have always thought that Pandas are interesting animals. I visit the zoo every years and pandas definitely make the list of what to see. I wanted to know more about different types of pandas. I visited the Qinling Panda article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects worth commenting on: completeness of topics, the lack of citations, and how old the data is.
Completeness
[edit]In this article, I noticed that some information is sparse. When talking about the characteristics of the Qinling Panda, it mainly talks about the size and the color. This article could use some more information about other characteristics of the panda.
Citations
[edit]In this article, most of the information is cited. At some places, in the article, there is information that is not cited and is written to be taken as a fact. Some of the links do not lead to reliable information. Some of these links even tell the reader that the information below needs improvement and needs more medical references for verification or relies too much on primary sources. This article could use more reliable information.
Age
[edit]The citations in this article are not very current. When talking about the panda in general, the citations are from the early 2000's.This isn't a huge problem because it is describing the panda itself. When talking about the diseases and abnormalities of the panda, the citations are from the early 2010's. Information about disease and abnormalities could have changed in the last couple of years with the advances of technology.
Summary
[edit]All in all, I would rate this article as "okay". It had enough information to get a broad understanding of the Qinling Panda, but the links were not very reliable. This article could benefit from more information overall, which would help us get a better understanding of the Qinling Panda.
