Sanjay Singh (born April 20, 1967) is an American entrepreneur focused on technology. Singh is the CEO of hCentive[1], a leading healthcare technology solutions provider. hCentive was founded in 2009 by Singh, Manoj Agarwala and Tarun Upadhyay. Prior to hCentive, he co-founded GlobalLogic[2] , a full-lifecycle product development services company, in April 2000. Singh graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the Government College of Engineering, Raipur, Madhya Pradesh, India. In 1990, he obtained a Master of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India.
Early life
[edit]Singh was born to Ramji Singh and Meera Singh in Shimla, India. His father worked for the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. His mother was a homemaker. Singh spent his childhood in Delhi. He attended the Government Senior Secondary School in Delhi, India. In 1984, Sanjay began pursuing Bachelor of Engineering from the Government College of Engineering in Raipur, Madhya Pradesh. He specialized in mining and graduated from the college in 1989. Following his graduation, he started pursuing Master of Technology in Industrial Engineering & Management at IIT Kharagpur.
Early career
[edit]In 1991 after completing his post-graduation service at IIT, Singh joined Wipro Systems, an information technology, consulting and outsourcing company, as a software engineer. In 1993, the company relocated Singh to Wisconsin. He left the company in 1995 to start his own IT consultancy.
From GlobalLogic to hCentive
[edit]In April 2000, Singh co-founded GlobalLogic[3] with Manoj Agarwala, Tarun Upadhyay and Rajul. The company was headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, with a delivery center based in Noida, India. Over the next nine years, Globallogic[4] grew to over 3,000 employees. In 2009, Singh with Agarwala and Upadhyay left to start hCentive. The trio decided to focus on providing cloud-based technology solutions for the health insurance market.
