Template protected redirects are constructed for the purpose of preventing vandalism or edit warring, but may be a plausible template shortcut, as an alternative to deleting the page. Template protection prevents a template page from being edited except by administrators and template editors.

To add a redirect to this category, add template {{R template protected}} on the same line just after the target link in accordance with the instructions found at Wikipedia:REDCAT. This should be done only if the redirect is, in fact, template protected - adding the category does not in itself protect the page.
