Alberto Vazquez has worked since 1975 in show business as an actor, writer, teacher, director and producer.

In April 2000 Alberto signed with the prestigious literary agent, Robert Freedman Dramatic Agency, Inc. He was the first minority/Latin/person of color signed for literary representation in the screenplay department.

His first professional job was “The Sun Always Shines For the Cool”, an adaptation of Miguel Pinero’s Broadway play.

Writing Projects in development: “Sidewalk Mars”, “Dreams Never Die” and “Naked Cards”. Naked Cards was a quarter finalist in the 1999 Writer’s Network competition. In 1996 Alberto collaborated with Sy Richardson (Posse) to write a treatment period piece called “Swing Street” for RMM Records/Ralph Mercado about the contributions of Latin Jazz in America from 1940 - 1970. He is currently in development negotiations with RMM Records for Swing Street. In 2000 he finished writing “Never Personal” a film/ long form rap video for Hood Direct Productions.

As an actor he has performed on stage, soap operas, film and episodic television. Other stage credits include Off-Broadway: “Leather Heart”; “Eulogy for a Small Time Thief”, “Caucasian Chalk Circle”, “Street Car Named Desire” and “First Class”. On Broadway he appeared in the stage hit “Cuba And His Teddy Bear” with Robert DeNiro, Ralph Macchio and Burt Young.

Film credits include: “Zooman” with Louis Gossett, Jr. and Charles S. Dutton. “Family Business” with Sean Connery, Matthew Broderick and Dustin Hoffman; Crocodile Dundee II” with Paul Hogan; “White Hot” with Danny Aiello; David Mamet’s “Wag the Dog” (1997) directed by Barry Levinson; Edtv (1999) directed by Ron Howard and a co-starring role with Tim Roth in Guiseppe Tonatore’s “The Legend of 1900 (1998). He is in “Michael Clayton” with George Clooney.

Episodic Television credits include: “Third Watch” as Manuel Velez with Giancarlo Esposito; Law & Order: Criminal Intent as Nicky Torres with Vincent D’Onofrio and Courtney B. Vance; “Deadline” with Oliver Platt; Law & Order (6x) with Jerry Orbach, Jessie L. Martin, George Dzunda, Chris Noth and Michael Moriarty; “Ed” with Timothy Busfield; “The Street”; “Walker, Texas Ranger” with Chuck Norris; “Unsolved Mysteries”; “Brisco County, Jr”; “Crime and Punishment”; “Reasonable Doubt” with Mark Harmon and Marlee Matlin; “Saved By The Bell”; “America’s Most Wanted”; “Golden Years”, and four comic skits with David Letterman on the The Letterman Show(NBC). He will be seen in Wes Craven new release 25/8 in early 2009.
