Puppy Linux

[edit]

After booting Puppy (any ver) with pfix=ram on the Dell XPS R350 / 160MB, you'll need to use the 3c509 network interface module (driver). The interface (card) is really an 10bT ISA 3Com Etherlink III. Use the Connect icon to auto-setup via DHCP. Browse will then work.
Also, the AGP video card may be only 24bit capable, ie the default 1024 768 16 doesn't work, and the screensaver sometimes crashes the system. Use the menu system to turn it off (find pupX).
Keyboard is UK.
Use Pmount to enable the second CD-ROM.
Can anyone source another 128MB for this machine? I would still like to retire the 32MB pen-drive in USB1. PD59 (talk) 07:27, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
