Ian Redmond OBE[1] is a tropical field biologist and conservationist. His career spans more than 30 years in which he is renowned for his work with Gorillas and Elephants. He is best known for his work with mountain gorrilas, Redmond has been involved in more than 50 documentaries on the subject for, amongst others, BBC, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel. Redmond was also involved in Gorrilas in the Mist.
Early life and family
[edit]Redmond was born in Malaysia, moving to Beverley aged five to live with his mother. It was in Beverley where his love of animals becoming a member of the Beverley and Hull Naturalist Society. Redmond attended Keele University studying Biology and Geology.
Redmond is married with twin sons, Matthew and Benjamin.
