Chloro tris(tert-butylimido)manganese, Mn(NtBu)3CI, is a compound with manganese in the VIII oxidation state, which is extremely rare outside of compounds containing permanganate.

Synthesis

An acetonitrile solution of manganese(III) chloride reacts with trimethylsilane and tert-butylamine to form chloro tris(t-butylimido)manganese.[2]

Reactions

The chloro ligand can be replaced by other groups.
