The league was formed in 1895, however this was the final season of the league as a new North Wales Coast West Football League was formed from the 2020–21 season in which all teams from the Anglesey League and Gwynedd League were transferred to.

The Anglesey league was in the sixth level of the Welsh football pyramid.

There were eleven teams in the division, with the champions and runners-up promoted to the Gwynedd League.

The season began on 9 August 2019 and was abandoned on 14 March 2020 after the outbreak of Coronavirus.
