File source problem with File:Buzan new.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Buzan new.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:12, 20 February 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Damiens.rf 15:12, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:DU Logo1.gif
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:DU Logo1.gif. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Speedy deletion of User:Oniongas/mylinks
[edit]Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages such as User:Oniongas/mylinks, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:User:Oniongas/mylinks|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Re: Adopt
[edit]I'm certainly around if you need help, although my activity lately has been somewhat sparse because of my college work. I'm not sure I'd be around often enough to provide you with really reliable help, particularly if you need an answer to something quickly. I also know very little if any knowledge about that particular field, so I wouldn't be of much help with those articles. For those reasons, I'm a bit hesitant to say yes, although again, I am always open for general questions and the like. If you feel you do need someone to be more active in helping you out, I can try to find someone else to formally adopt you. Let me know what works for you. Hersfold (t/a/c) 22:14, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
Rollback
[edit]I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 15:44, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:Veerendra actor.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Veerendra actor.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Replaceable fair use Image:BGSBU shopping mall.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BGSBU shopping mall.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 08:51, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Logo BGSBU.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Logo BGSBU.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 00:11, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

speedy
[edit]The criterion for speedy deletion is nothing to indicate any likely notability, a deliberately very low bar, not whether or not the person is actually notable. Frankly, as reviewing administrator, I cant see how a GM for the Astros could possibly be considered non-notable, but you have the right to take it to AfD. also, only articles on people, bands, groups, companies, or web content can be deleted as nn via speedy; everything else has top go to prod or afd if the problem is notability.
Equally important, when you nominate for deletion, it is required that you do not mark the edit as minor, and also that yousay specifically in the edit summary that you are nominating it for speedy deletion. If you have your preferences set to mark everything as minor, as seems to be the case, i suggest you uncheck it. DGG (talk) 05:26, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Request to move article List of people from Jammu and Kashmir incomplete
[edit]You recently filed a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves to move the page List of people from Jammu and Kashmir to a different title - however your request is either incomplete or has been contested for being controversial, and has been moved to the incomplete and contested proposals section. Requests that remain incomplete will be removed after five days.
Please make sure you have completed all three of the following:
- Added {{move|NewName}} at the top of the talk page of the page you want moved, replacing "NewName" with the new name for the article. This creates the required template for you there.
- Added a place for discussion at the bottom of the talk page of the page you want to be moved. This can easily be accomplished by adding {{subst:RMtalk|NewName|reason for move}} to the bottom of the page, which will automatically create a discussion section there.
- Added {{subst:RMlink|PageName|NewName|reason for move}} to the top of today's section here.
If you need any further guidance, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Requested moves or contact me on my talk page. - JPG-GR (talk) 05:35, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Inline citations
[edit]Liza Andriyana's page has been tagged by you, for lack of inline citations.
Basically all of the information in this article has been obtained by interrogating the WTA and ITF databases, starting at the links provided.
Those are script-driven sites, so it would be difficult to provide URLs for all of the skerricks of information that have been gleaned from various WTA and ITF search results.
For instance, when a request is made to view the doubles results for a particular player for a particular year on the WTA site, the URL in one's address field remains http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/2/players/playerprofiles/PlayerActivity.asp: it's not a URL that will actually take you to see the results.
In summary, although it is true that the article lacks inline citations, there's not much that can be done to improve this, and hence I would ask that the tag be removed.
I've placed these comments on the discussion page for Liza Andriyana, so if you wish we can continue this discussion there.

I've removed your speedy tag from Galahad Lager, as 'notability' is not grounds for speedy deletion. Please use PROD or AFD. Thanks ShakingSpirittalk 12:48, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
I've removed the prod here; as a law student I'm well aware of the case, and it easily passes the notability guidelines. Ironholds (talk) 18:41, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. For future reference, lack of detail/description in an article isn't a reason to delete it unless it is impossible to identify what the article is about. Ironholds (talk) 18:50, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Talk:Muhammad
[edit]Hi, I'm not quite sure exactly what point you were trying to make on my talk page but it looks as if you're just reiterating what I've heard a million times before on the Muhammad talk page, but if you want a personal explanation here goes: I am acutely aware that a MINORITY want these images removed and that a FUNDAMENTALLY FLAWED petition is floating about on the internet (but then again there's a petition on the internet about anything and everything so I'm choosing to ignore it) so nothing you write on my talk is news to me. I can say with my hand on my heart that I couldn't care less if people are irritated by my comments, if they are pathetic enough not to be able to read a talk then that isn't my problem, I'll just be content with the fact that I'm better than them but I certainly will not refrain from making any comment whenever I damn well please. If you don't like pictures of some random bloke, don't look at them and if you don't like my comments don't read them. I'll leave your message on my talk for a couple of days for reference before I delete it. RaseaC (talk) 23:17, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'm acutely aware of WP's guidelines and do adhere to them, unless it's some lowlife that's simply here to make trouble or can't be bothered to read, in my opinion those people shouldn't be using WP so I choose to speak to them bluntly. The rules have to be applied with a bit of common sense.RaseaC (talk) 13:35, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi Oniongas, I'm afraid I've had to decline this deletion. Bio is not a deletion criteria - we have lots of biographies on Wikipedia. Non-notable Bio is a deletion criteria, but probably doesn't apply to Chris Ogbonnaya. As a Brit I know little of North American sports, but I do know enough to suspect that this person meets wp:athlete. PS May I suggest you reread Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. Tagging for speedy deletion
[edit]Hi Oniongas. Thank you for your work on patrolling pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I just wanted to inform you that I declined to delete Christopher Russell, a page that you tagged for speedy deletion without specifying a criterion for speedy deletion because of the following concern: Remember that there is no speedy criterion that allows deletion for missing notability, just one that has a much lower standard, i.e. A7 which cannot be applied if there is indication for potential notability, e.g. multiple roles in different notable TV shows and films (see also WP:A7M#BIO). Please review the criteria for speedy deletion and especially what is considered Non-criteria. In future you should rather tag such pages for proposed deletion or start an appropriate deletion discussion. Regards SoWhy 10:40, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
- Also, I declined FRP tanks and vessels because "not notable" is not a valid speedy deletion criterion and there is no criterion that covers products or chemical substances. Please use WP:AFD for such pages instead. Regards SoWhy 10:51, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

If you have recently read these pages it’s got massive chunks related to the Kashmir conflict such as in Northern Areas "Competing Territorial Claims" same with Azad Kashmir with a section containing "dispute positions" however flick over to Indian administered Kashmir page Indian-administered Kashmir and there is only a brief mention of the dispute in the introduction why should Pakistani pages contain massive chunks of disputed claims section while Indian-administered Kashmir is completely devoid of any mention of the conflict.
Taking into account that last month Indian administered Kashmir has seen allot of pro freedom protests and sadly murder of civilians relating to Indian troops what’s your take on this situation the Kashmir conflict page covers both sides there is also a Pakistan-administered Kashmir page which states the same thing over and over why should Pakistani Kashmir pages like northern areas and azad kashmir exclusively cater to another section on the conflict even though virtually all the pro freedom marches occur in IOK I am not asking you to edit just to ponder it undue weight to Pakistan is not acceptable while Jammu and Kashmir page looks like a tourist brochure:-) 81.158.128.202 (talk) 10:43, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
