Musical Background and Outlook
I Began playing music when I was 14. The guitar is my primary instrument but I have expanded into vocals and piano over the years. I was self taught for the first 5 years of my playing, and began my formal training as a musician when I was 19. I have played in several bands over the years ranging from ska, metal, punk, classical, jazz, hip hop, electronic, r n b, experimental, and country. I attended Miami-Dade for two years and currently attend Berklee School of Music. I have began focusing on working with electronic music and electronic production with programs such as Reason, Abelton, and Logic. Despite my use of genres to define what I do, I view music as being undefinable. I like to think of music as emotions and themes rather than specific types of styles.
My Own Music My current music is divided into three projects. I recorded with a band featuring vocals, guitar, drums, keyboards, and bass. I wrote music that was influenced by composers such as Mussorgsky and Ravel, heavy use of jazz voicings, and punk rock esthetics. The second project I am working on is just solo guitar music influenced by Django Reinhardt and Thelonious Monk, I hope to eventually incorporate brass instruments into these works. My third project is electronic music influenced by modern electronic artists such as Flying Lotus and Aphex Twin combined with the influence of alternative rock bands such as Sonic Youth and Fugazi.
