New article name ... Kagiso Lesego Molope is a South African author. She was born and raised in the Northern part of South Africa, in a township called Mabopane. She has written two novels, both prescribed reading in high schools in South Africa and Swaziland. Her first novel, Dancing in the Dust, was first published by TSAR in Canada. Oxford University Press later bought the Southern Africa rights to the book, which later won the IBBY prize in 2006. Dancing in the Dust was the first novel by a Black South African person to win the IBBY. Her second novel, The Mending Season, was published by Oxford University Press for Southern Africa. It is also published in German by Nordsud.
