Westbrook Technologies is an American company, founded in 1991 in Branford, Connecticut, which offers document management software applications for businesses.
Product
[edit]Similar to other document management programs, the firm's product, Fortis, provides life-cycle management for paper and electronic documents, including the functions of capturing and indexing information, archiving data, retrieving information, distribution, and automated purging. The product features full text and index search as well as Desktop Search, which allows users to search documents from their desktop.
Multiple users may access and view the same document for editing purposes such as copying, cutting, pasting, annotating, enhancing, deleting, reordering, or drawing freehandedly on the documents; the software protects against simultaneous revisions. The software is capable of workflow options with built-in notifications and electronic routing so participants can see what steps they are responsible for completing next. It can integrate with line of business (LOB) applications, such as accounts payable/receivable, customer relationship management and case management systems. It provides audit logs to allow administrators to keep track of user activities on a specific document. [1].
FortisBlue is the web-based version of the document management solution, accessible from Internet browsers allowing access to stored documents from any computer.
Partnerships
[edit]The firm has partnered with a variety of technology companies which provide add-on software and hardware modules, allowing the software solutions to include unique business processes, workflow, or scanning of paper documents..[2] They have partnered with companies from the health care industry[3] to financial industry[4], as well international companies, extending their reach beyond just the United States.[5]
The company is a Microsoft partner with a silver ISV competency [6]. Westbrook Technologies’ products integrate with line-of-business applications; with copiers, printers, scanners and MFP ( multifunction printer) technologies from leading manufacturers and with Microsoft® Office® and Microsoft® SharePoint®. Category:Document management systems
