Joanne Julian
[edit]Joanne Julian is an Armenian/American artist. She is known for her works on paper of our organic world. She also does calligraphy, printmaking, Zen Buddhist ink painting, and abstract composition. She really likes to connect her painting to real things and does well mixing them in art.

Life and Education
[edit]Joan Julian was born in Los Angeles, California and was raised in the San Fernando Valley throughout her start of life. Joanne attended California State University, Northridge where she completed two BA's and MA in just five years. She also has five grandchildren that are Japanese which also are included and are a big part of her art work.
Career
[edit]Julian started her journey by exploring her art by dancing, running, swimming and led her to express her art in a unique way. She started teaching at College of the Canyons in Valencia and while being there she lectured as a guest in some locations like in University of California, Los Angeles, Art Center College of Design, and Glendale College. With all her accomplishments, she has also been a part of 20 solo exhibitions and over 60 exhibitions nationally. In an interview she mentioned her four Japanese grandchildren that she then said that they inspired various of her art pieces. This led her to work with masterpieces of Zen and really connect her art pieces. Some of the art pieces include palm trees, botanicals ravens, fish, insects, water, skies, stars and galaxies.
Accomplishments
[edit]Several articles have been written about her in the Los Angeles Times, ArtWeek, The San Fransisco Chronicle. She also did a lot of event in California State University, Northridge and was part of Thomas Babeor Gallery in La Jolla, California.
