ToDo
[edit]- USS Northampton (CA-26) dig up good source on mid 30s weapons refit and update page. (Hint: US Navy pulled torpedoes from heavy cruisers pre-WWII)
- US HCN (Historical Climate Network) and US HCN-M dig up good sources and create relevant pages (to go with the Climate Reference Network page). Initially stumbled across these here: http://wattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/why-modernize-hcn.ppt and here: http://wattsupwiththat.wordpress.com/2008/04/29/what-the-modernized-ushcn-will-look-like/ Also Mentioned in passing in Instrumental temperature record#Criticism of the United States land surface temperature_record
- The National Climatic Data Center
- Cooperative Engagement Capability mentioned in the USS John F. Kennedy page. (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/weaps/cec.htm)
- Blitzfighter from the Colonel James G. Burton's (USAF retired) book The Pentagon Wars. Based on 4 barrel version of the GAU-8, possibly similar to the GAU-13 cannon from the A-10
- Find reference on the Benson class destroyer armament. The current pages seem to vary widely in both detail and equipment (Number of main turrets, number of torpedo tubes, size of secondary armament). I suspect, but need to verify, that changing priorities cause the Navy to remove a 5" turret to free up weight/space for additional anti-aircraft weapons.
