I have found that my major mission as a page editor is to fix minor -- but sometimes very strange -- typos in articles... It is my impression (with zero official statistical confirmation that I know of) that some typos -- e.g., the change of a single letter in a word -- can make a sentence comically absurd, or (in fewer cases) just "icky". But, I have no official evidence that these typos are the work of "mischief" vandals.
I'm sure there are many examples in the ant (insect) world, in which roles are clearly differentiated. In that world, I'd be the one who picks up stuff that is clearly "garbage", and removes it from the colony.
