Labour Party | A big tent centre-left party with historic links with the trade union movement. Split between social democrats and the centrist Reform grouping which supports economic liberalism. Mostly in favour of European Confederation membership. | |
United Socialist Party | A democratic socialist party favouring nationalisation and socialist economics. Increasingly the main party linked to trade unions. Mixed on the issue of European Confederation membership. | |
National Democratic Party | A centre-right conservative party in England and Wales favouring economic liberalism and moderate social reform. Also has notable social conservative and libertarian wings. Following the creation of the National Government, 24 NDP MPs sit in the opposition benches as independents but are still members of the party. The Scottish Unionist Party is the NDP's sister party in Scotland. Mostly in favour of European Confederation membership. | |
Liberal Party | Centrist liberal party. The two main groups in the party are the social liberals and more classical liberals that support economic liberalism. Supports European Confederation membership. | |
National Front | Right-wing populist and national conservative party, strongly opposes immigration, communism and European Confederation membership. | |
Left Front | Electoral alliance between the Communist Party of Great Britain and Solidarity. Opposes capitalism, economic liberalism and European Confederation membership. Favours closer relations with the Soviet Union. | |
Scottish Republican Party | Scottish nationalist and social democratic party that supports the independence of Scotland within the European Confederation | |
Women's Party | Centre-left feminist party that pushes for gender equality and equal representation of women in business and political positions. | |
Green Party | Green political party that supports environmentalism and green economics. Generally in favour of the European Confederation and opposes the continued use of nuclear power following the Sellafield disaster. | |
Scottish Unionist Party | Centre-right Scottish partner of the National Democratic Party that opposes Scottish independence but supports continued devolution for the nation. Unionist MPs sit with NDP MPs in the House of Commons. | |
Plaid Cymru | Centre-left Welsh nationalist party that supports environmentalism, European Confederation membership, the revitalisation of the Welsh language and Welsh independence. | |
Scottish Socialist Party | Scottish nationalist party that supports democratic socialism and Scottish independence. | |
Mebyon Kernow | Centre-left Cornish nationalist party that supports further devolution for the region, environmentalism, European Confederation membership and the revitalisation of the Cornish language. |
