Oba Engr. Sochima Vincent Egoigwe hails from Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He obtained his First and Master’s Degrees in Electronics Engineering, from the famous University of Nigeria, Nsukka and currently pursuing his Doctorate. Oba Engr. Egoigwe is an academic staff of the University of Nigeria with the department of Mechatronics Engineering. He is a seasoned researcher who has published over 30 research articles in national and international reputable journals and participated in more than 25 conferences and workshops. Oba Engr. Egoigwe is a registered member of the apex umbrella-body of practicing Engineers in Nigeria- The Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE); Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Oba Engr. Egoigwe has served and still serving at different capacities within and outside the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Among numerous others, here are a few: Chairman, School Fee Verification committee 2018-date; Member Expanded Local Organizing Committee of the Centre for Lion Gadgets and Technologies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Board Member, University of Nigeria Press 2019 till date; Deputy Director, Centre for Lion Gadgets and Technologies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka 2018 till date; Managing Editor, Journal of Gadgets Technology Research; and Consulting Editor, International Journal of Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Development, University of Nigeria.
Oba Engr. Sochima Vincent Egoigwe’s selfless lifestyle cannot go unnoticed by men and women of good will. Hence, he has received numerous awards and conferment of titles. Some of these awards and titles includes: Award of Appreciation for support as a pillar of Sports by the Faculty of Arts Staff Team , University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Award of dedicated service by the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC); Award of Excellence for contributions towards developmental projects in Enugwu-Ukwu Community Development by Enugwu-Ukwu Youth Council, Enugu Branch; Award of Excellence as friend of persons with disabilities during the 2019 World Disabilities Day, presented by Special Education Unit, University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Philanthropic Excellent Award on the occasion of Anambra Day/Ofala presented by National Union of Anambra State Students (NUASS), University of Nigeria, Nsukka; An Award of Excellence for numerous contributions to the growth of Education in Nigeria by National Association of Microbiology Students. Egoigwe’s community did not overlook his benevolence. To further appreciate him, the title “Oba” Kpakpando 1 by Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State was conferred on him. His research interest is centered around Signal Processing, Microelectronics, Control Systems, Power Engineering, Telecommunications, Navigation Systems and Lighting in buildings. He is happily married to Lolo Sarah-Ruth Egoigwe and the marriage is blessed with a daughter, Chimamanda Caira Egoigwe.
