Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (French pronunciation: [ʒo wilfʁid tsɔŋɡa];[3] born 17 April 1985) is a French professional tennis player. A member of the Tennis Club de Paris (TCP), Tsonga's career-high ATP singles ranking is world No. 5, which he achieved in February 2012.

After being awarded the ATP Newcomer of the Year for 2007, Tsonga rose to fame by virtue of his performance in the 2008 Australian Open when, as an unseeded player, he reached the final, having defeated four seeded players along the way, including a straight-sets win over No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the semifinals. Tsonga eventually lost to the No. 3 Novak Djokovic in the final in four sets, after winning the first set; it was the only set Djokovic dropped during the tournament.

Tsonga followed this up by winning his first ATP Masters Series championship at the 2008 Paris Masters, thus qualifying for the 2008 Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai, China. His best performances in a major tournament since 2008 are semifinal appearances in the 2010 Australian Open, the 2013 and 2015 French Opens, and at Wimbledon in 2011 and 2012. He also reached the final of the 2011 ATP World Tour Finals, where he lost to five-time and defending champion Roger Federer. He achieved his second Masters Series win at the 2014 Canadian Open, defeating four top ten players on the way to victory. This meant that this was the first time a member of the Big Four had not won the Rogers Cup since Andy Roddick in 2003. This feat also made him the first player to defeat Djokovic, Murray, and Federer in the same tournament. On top of his Masters Series victories, Tsonga also reached the final of the 2011 Paris Masters and the 2015 Shanghai Masters — losing to Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic respectively. To add to this, he won the 2009 Shanghai Masters doubles title with partner Julien Benneteau. In 2017, Tsonga helped France to their first Davis Cup win in 16 years after previously losing in the final in 2014.

He has reached the quarterfinal stage of all four Grand Slams. He is also the first and one of only three players (the others being Tomáš Berdych and Stan Wawrinka) to have Grand Slam wins against each of the Big Four (namely Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray). Tsonga is also an Olympic silver medallist, finishing 2nd in the doubles with partner Michaël Llodra in the 2012 Summer Olympics. They lost in the final to the American team of Bob and Mike Bryan.

Tsvetana Kirilova Pironkova (Bulgarian: Цветана Кирилова Пиронкова [tsvɛˈtanɐ piroŋˈkɔvɐ]; born 13 September 1987) is a Bulgarian professional tennis player. She was the highest ranked Bulgarian tennis player for more than a decade and is also the country's most successful player in the history of the Fed Cup. Pironkova is considered to be one of the best grass court players of her generation and has been noted for her "cerebral" skills on the surface.[4][5] Dubbed as a dramatic ranking phenomenon by media outlets, she is also known for upstaging higher ranked opponents at Grand Slam tournaments.[6][7]

Pironkova started playing tennis at the age of four on being introduced to the sport by her father. She made her WTA Tour debut at the İstanbul Cup in 2005, and achieved moderate success earlier in her career. That changed in 2010, when she entered Wimbledon with a 1–4 career record at the event, and went on reach the semifinals of the tournament, becoming just the second Bulgarian tennis player in history to reach the semifinal stage of a Grand Slam in singles. She garnered wide recognition for her performance, and after her semifinal finish reached her highest singles ranking at No. 31 in September 2010. Pironkova followed it up with a quarterfinal run at the event the following year, earning her the nickname "The Wimbledon Darkhorse".[8]

Pironkova won her first WTA title at the 2014 Apia International, defeating three top-10 ranked players in a row. She defeated the world No. 2, Radwańska, in the fourth round of the 2016 French Open, reaching her first quarterfinal at a Grand Slam other than Wimbledon. In addition to this, Pironkova has a total of twelve wins over other top-10 ranked players to her name. She also holds one of the longest streak of the most consecutive Grand Slam appearances at 47. Ahead of the 2017 Wimbledon Championships, Pironkova launched her own women's clothing and lifestyle brand, Pironetic.[9][10]
