Powered Exoskeletons in Pop Culture
Due to the increase in pop culture interest and in recent years, Powered Exoskeletons have found their way into movies, video games, T.V. shows, and other pop culture entertainment alike. Many different people, developers, creators, artists, and corporations have contributed to the rise in powered exoskeletons in pop culture. One of the major contributors in recent years has been Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU. The MCU has produced movies such as Iron Man, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3; along with having the main protagonist, Tony Stark, of these movies appear in other Marvel movies. The MCU is not the only studio to use exoskeletons in their films. Other films, listed here, have used powered exoskeletons in them. Before the turn of the century, according to this list, only eight films featured powered exoskeletons. It wasn't till the turn of the century that films really began to showcase powered exoskeletons in them. Since 2002, over twenty different films can be found with exoskeleton suits in them. Some of the films are the same ones listed in this article but that is still more than double the number of movies that have featured exoskeletons.
Powered Exoskeletons have been featured in more than just films, they have been found in various video games as well. Different games such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Crysis, the Halo series, and many others have featured different exoskeletons.[1]
