Nour Odeh Founding member of the National Democratic Assembly and parliamentary candidate on the Freedom List, headed by Dr. Nasser Al-Kidwa.
Social and political activist, media professional and communications consultant, CEO and founder of Connect Consulting for Strategic Communications. Between 2012 and 2013, Ms. Odeh served as the Director of the Palestinian Media Centre and spokesperson of the Palestinian Government.
Before joining public service, Odeh was a career journalist, covering the Israel-Palestine conflict extensively for over 11 years in English, Arabic and Spanish, which she speaks fluently, for several Palestinian and international media organizations. In 2003, Ms. Odeh set up and led Ramattan News Agency, Palestine's first video news agency, based in Gaza, serving clients worldwide.
In 2006, she became the Al Jazeera English correspondent in Gaza, where she was the only resident correspondent for an English-speaking channel. In 2008, Ms. Odeh’s reporting was recognized in the Monte Carlo International Television Festival and won Al-Jazeera Network’s first Golden Nymph award.
Ms. Odeh actively supports civil society work in Palestine, especially organizations promoting civil rights, freedoms, and the arts. She serves on the boards of various prominent organizations, including the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy (MIFTAH) and AMAN (Transparency Palestine) and the Yasser Arafat Foundation.
