Creation Illustrated is a non-denominational Christian quarterly that focuses on nature photography, outdoors, poetry, recipes, and healthy living from a creationist perspective.[1]
History
[edit]Creation Illustrated was founded in 1993 by a husband and wife team, Tom and Jennifer Ish. Both founders were Seventh-day Adventists who worked at Weimar Institute prior to founding Creation Illustrated. They sought to create a "stress relief" magazine that would focus on the natural world, but from a Christian viewpoint. They also sought to create a non-denominational magazine that would appeal to people of all faiths. The magazine was well-reviewed, winning two Silver Angel awards in 1999.[2]
Format
[edit]Association with Homeschooling
[edit]The magazine has had an association with Christian homeschooling from the start; the founders homeschooled their own children. Creation Illustrated sells Biology unit studies aimed at elementary home schoolers on its website.
