User Niximagery (formerly Cullaloe[1]) is Nick Hood.

I am a physicist, educator and coder in the beautiful town of Rosyth, Fife, Scotland. I am a former Lecturer at the Institute of Education, Teaching and Leadership at the University of Edinburgh, writing and teaching initial teacher education in science, currently pursuing research for a PhD. I came to education late, after a career in industry and am continually surprised at the range of intelligences, principles and abilities in academia.

It is particularly nice to get support from people around the world. I strongly believe that whilst we have the opportunity, we should strengthen our global community by working together to solve the problems that face us. From my very first education-related post[2]:

We set people free of their bonds when we teach them.

Social Media

[edit]

I've been a user and promoter of social media, not just in education but also in general professional and personal development. The internet revolution has allowed unprecedented sharing of information - much of it in a positive way and all of it built upon the anarchy that is the social phenomenon of popular personal global communication.
