Xander Tan (born 26 March 2011) is a Singaporean composer and musician known for his work in classical music.

Early Life and Education

Xander was born and raised in Singapore. He graduated from Bedok Green Primary School and is currently attending Bedok Green Secondary School. From a young age, he exhibited perfect pitch and a deep interest in classical music, which led him to pursue composition. He plays three instruments, particularly the Piano, Violin, and the Flute.

  • Recorder Octet No. 1, Op. 1 (2023): A recorder octet for garklein, soprano, soprano, alto, tenor, bass, greatbass, and contrabass recorder.
  • Piano Sonata in C Major, Op. 2 (2023): A three-movement work (with one completed movement) for solo piano.
  • Orchestral Suite No. 1 "Baroque", Op. 3 (2023): One of a set of orchestral pieces using orchestral instrumentations from different periods of classical music. The rest are incomplete.
  • Symphony No. 1, Op. 4 (2024): An incomplete and lost planned symphony.
  • Symphony No. 2, Op. 5 (2024): Another incomplete and lost planned symphony.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Xander enjoys gaming, particularly Minecraft, and has a keen interest in public transport systems in Singapore. He is also a clock collector and has a passion for timepieces.
