Bio

I'm an Everett Community College running start student, in my junior year. I love to eat and try different foods, one of my dads stir fry chicken and jalapeno is my favorite thing to eat after playing sports. My two favorite sports are football and basketball. In football, I play wide receiver and linebacker, linebacker is a hard position to play because we have to watch for the pass and stop the run. In basketball I play power forward, I'm usually close to the basket grabbing rebounds.

I could see myself writing about athletes, like my favorite basketball player, James Harden. I'm also interested in cars, I could write about different cars and how they're made. I'm also interested in the Wikipedia community and what other people's opinions about a topic. I would like to make a Wikipedia page for someone that doesn't have one and edit other ones that need to be updated.

Article evaluation

Birds have always been one of my favorite types of animals. The Araripe manakin is an endangered species of birds because of deforestation, they live in Brazil and first discovered in 1996. I want the Araripe manakin Wikipedia page to be improved. I visited the Araripe manakin page on Wikipedia and found three aspects worth commenting on: no description of what they eat and their weight, lack of citations and how relevancy of this Wiki page.

Description

The Wikipedia page puts some characteristics of the Araripe, like how the female's colors consist of green and olive, while the males have a white body, black tail and a red patch running down their back. Some characteristics were not added on the Wikipedia page like how much Araripe weighs, and what they eat. Araripe weighs around 19-20 grams and feeds on the fruits of the Cordia species.

Citations

The citations of Werner Bockermann and Balneario das Caldas lead to a Wiki page that was never created. There need to be more citations on topics like how they estimated the population. The article needs a lot more sources that are new and reliable. More sources that are not from Wikipedia need to be added into the external links section.

Relevancy

The page was last updated on September 24, 2019. The estimated population in 2000 was less than 50 individuals, but the most relevant estimation was in 2004 and they assumed that 250 individuals are in the wild. All of the years have been outdated and need a new estimation of the new population of birds.

Summary

This Wiki page needs some work on it. Some important information is provided on the page, but many important characteristics of Araipe are missing. More sources need to be cited on the page that is more reliable. Many of the population estimations are outdated and need to be updated to more recent studies of the new population.
