Davy McMaster was in his third and final season as coach. Richard Milliken chaired the selectors' committee, alongside McMaster, Harry Steele, and newcomers Nigel Carr and Stephen Blake-Knox.[1]

Maurice Field made his debut for Ireland on 19 February 1994.

Jonny Bell made his debut for Ireland on 5 June 1994.
