My name is Nevin Thompson. I am the Japan News Editor for Global Voices, a truly global network of multilingual activists and journalists.

I am mostly interested in reviewing Wikipedia articles about Japan for accuracy, notably citations. There is a lot of link-rot on Wikipedia, which I'd like to help fix. On top of that, Japan articles can quite often link to weak or even inaccurate sources. This is a big problem because many Western news sources rely on Wikipedia for context and background research. Little inaccuracies on Wikipedia then get amplified into disinformation. My 2016 article Is Japan Having Sex? includes examples of this.
