Patrick Melton (born November 11, 1979) is an American comedian and podcaster.
Background
[edit]Melton was born in Champaign, Illinois, but grew up most of his life in Evanston, Illinois. He attended Evanston Township High School, and graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies. He also attended Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he received a MFA in screenwriting. He is the writing partner of college friend Marcus Dunstan.
Comedy career
[edit]In 2002, Melton started his comedy career in Florida. Uninterested in popular opinions and political correctness, Patrick Melton uses his skewed world view to craft dry and intelligent material. With a general likeability and a wry smile, Patrick pulls off edgy humor other comedians might not even attempt. His life experiences and spins on everyday absurdities keep audiences laughing the entire show. His rapid-fire wit and perfect comedic timing are showcased regularly in his crowd interactions.
Patrick has had the opportunity to work with and write jokes for some of the biggest names in comedy today. He’s been described as “damn funny” and “an amazingly eccentric observational writer.” Whether performing at a club, college or theatre, Patrick delivers a powerful comedy performance that leaves a lasting impression.
Patrick is the creator and host of the top-rated comedy internet radio show, available at nobodylikesonions.com. Each week he entertains tens of thousands of listeners worldwide through the award-winning program.
Podcast career
[edit]In 2005, Melton started a podcast called Nobody Likes Onions. Initially it started in Florida and eventually moved to Los Angeles.
